More Bad News...!

Well... what can I say - I found out this morning that I'm going to be losing my job!  The site where I work is closing, and we're all going to be made redundant.  There will be a consultancy period for a few months - so I won't find out when my last day is until October.  Isn't that just kick-you-in-the-crotch, spit-on-your-neck fantastic?!

Oh well, life goes on - no point being miserable.  This year is definitely a year of change for me!  (Let's just hope that change doesn't involve me ending up living in a cardboard box...!)  ;o)

Maybe I should make more effort to make things to sell in my Folksy Shop!  I kind of drifted away from the idea of selling, and was just enjoying crafting and blogging about it.

Currently for sale in my Folksy Shop

Maybe I should put my energies into researching and making things that people would want to buy!  Although, I still wouldn't be able to make a living from it - so maybe I should focus on getting my CV up to date!!

  1. Oh dear! I am so sorry to hear that. Specially right now with the current financial climate of the country. But I am sure you will find something else.
    Lots of luck to you!!

  2. Sorry to hear about your job, something will turn up. Crafting is great fun but I don't think we will earn millions from it! It will soon be the weekend :)

  3. I am really sorry to hear that. This is going to be a year of change for you isn't it? I know it won't help right now but sometimes a change like this that is forced upon us can be for the best and new doors can be opened to you!

  4. I went through the same thing2.5yrs ago. It took them months to decide who was going then more months to decide when!! And in the meantime you don't know if your coming or going. But as Kandi says sometimes when these things happen it forces you to change direction and very oftern it's for the better. I'm still not found a job but that's my choice and it's meant I can spend lots more time with G who works shitty shifts and I get to go visit my grankids whenever I want. Plus of course I can craft to my hearts content. Look at what it costs you to go to work, travel, lunches, impulse shopping at lunch time and more importantly the time. Then work out exactly what you have left and maybe you'll find you can "craft" to make money and not be much worse off?
    It's worth considering!!

  7. Oh, Maria, that is really horrible. You know I'm a great believer in fate and, as some other bloggers have said, this could be the new start that brings more opportunities than you could have imagined.
Keep your chin up and keep crafting!

  10. Sorry to hear your sad news, I was made redundant a few years ago and it was a bit of a shock to be back out in the 'big bad world' again but things are good now and you have to look ahead.
